"Border to Border" is a non-profit 501C{3} corporation that was organized in the fall of 2000 to raise funds for pediatric HIV / AIDS research through adventure bicycle rides.
Border to Border (B2B) was founded by Joel Fritz, to fulfill a promise to a close family relative, who has been diagnosed as HIV-positive. They decided to focus their efforts on children because children do not have a voice in the effort to find a cure for AIDS. They are innocent; their only high-risk behavior is being born. Joel, a Colorado native and long-time Vail resident, continues to head B2B and be a voice for these children.
"The goal is to raise $100,000. $100,000 would fund a study to investigate the long-term effect of HIV drugs on children."
OUR MISSION
Awareness Inform and inspire Dreams Spirit
Awareness
Our passion for cycling is equalled with our passion to give back to the community. We are dedicated to assisting children with HIV/AIDS . In many ways these children have no voice. As we ride in various events and across the country we feel that we can speak on their behalf while compelling people to act - to protect themselves and to get tested - and to erase the stigma of those affected.
Inform and Inspire
Information and prevention are the two main driving forces behind containing and curing this disease. The only way to eradicate HIV/AIDS is to understand it. Kids living with aids, and their doctors and medical researchers, are our true inspiration. They are faced with many sacrifices. One of goals for raising funds is to assist in reducing some of those sacrifices. We are inviting you to join us on this mission.
Dreams
Part of our mission is to provide kids with HIV/AIDS an opportunity to have dreams, believe in themselves and others, and to live those dreams. Dream it, Plan it, and Live it!
Spirit
Having the courage, hope and faith that the future for kids with HIV/AIDS will be brighter. To believe that we can reduce or eliminate the contraction of the disease.
