Border to Border Challenge
fundraiser for aids cure
The process of reaching our goal will be made easier with your help.

For Riders Wanting to Help
If you are a rider, you can participate in any of our fun and beautifully scenic century ride events. If you are not a rider but would like to become one, B2B offers training advice on this web site for everyone from the beginner to the advanced cyclist. There is a minimum tax-deductible donation for each event and your rider account number will be issued when you fill out and sign the application form (available from the ride office or printed from the web site) – please refer to this number when sending donations.

In addition to the minimum donation, you may be able to increase your dollar amount for the cause very easily and with very little effort by reading and pursuing some of the fund raising suggestions found below:

Send a personal bio on what this event means to you and the fund raising letter to your local paper, radio station and TV outlets.
Ask your church, employer or service organizations in your area for speaking time at a meeting. Say WHY you want their help. Explain your sizable commitment to "THE CAUSE." Ask for a SPECIFIC amount from the members or the organization. Do all this in about 15 minutes.
Make a list of people in your life that could donate $500 and a list of ones that could give the children $100. You can be inventive here as to how to approach the people on these lists. Things that can help are a barbecue, potluck dinner, etc. Be specific on the invitation that the event is to raise funds for pediatric AIDS research and how much you need to meet the minimum level. Again, explain to the group the level of your time, effort and commitment to training and fund raising. When someone gives you a donation use it as a lever by telling as many people at that event that John Evans is the first one to donate $100.
SEND THANK YOU NOTES. Take time to feel good about your effort.
Download a fund raising form letter from Border to Border for your personal use via email or snail mail. You can change the language to fit your situation but keep the essential message: WHY these kids need us NOW. Send it to everyone you know. Keep a mailing list for next year.

For Non-Riders Wanting to Help
If you are not a rider but would still like to participate as a donor, simply send your tax-deductible check to the address below. This donation can go to sponsor a rider in any one of the B2B events if you wish, or may be a direct donation toward the cause. In addition, for such a large cause, all types of help are necessary. If time is what you are able to contribute, all of the rides put on by B2B need crew and vehicles. You can help the effort by filling some of these needs.
